A collaboration between Self-Assembly Lab, MIT, TAIT and Atelier One, the Biaxial Tower is a morphable pavilion built and situated on MIT’s campus for the Centennial celebration as part of an on-going research project exploring large-scale active woven structures.The tower is constructed from 36 fiberglass tubes in the form of a biaxial weave to create a large textile-like surface.
